Protecting Your Religion by Spending Your Wealth & Life
Every soul shall taste of death; you shall surely be paid in full your wages, the requital of your deeds, on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is moved away, distanced, from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, will have triumphed, he will have attained his ultimate wish. Living in, the life of this world is but the comfort of delusion; of inanity, enjoyed for a little while, then perishing.
The enjoyment of this world, that which is enjoyed therein, or enjoying it [the world], is insignificant, it will end up by perishing; and the Hereafter, Paradise, is better for him who fears God's punishment by avoiding disobedience to Him; and you shall not be wronged you shall not be diminished of your deeds, a single date-thread, as much as the peel on a date-stone, so struggle [in the way of God] (4:77, part of verse) | قُلْ مَتَاعُ ٱلدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَٱلآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَلاَ تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلاً |
It is reported that Jundub b. 'Abdillah Al-Bajali – Allah be pleased with him – was once asked for advice and instruction. He said(1):
· I advise you to fear Allaah and obey Him and I also advise you to adhere to the Quran, for it is a light in the dark night and a guidance during the day.
· Implement it, no matter how much struggle and poverty you have to face.
· If a calamity befalls you, put your wealth forward to protect your religion, and if the calamity continues, put forward your wealth and your life to save your religion [but never risk your religion].
· The ruined is he whose religion is ruined, and the looted is he whose religion is taken.
· And know that there is no poverty after Paradise, and no riches after the Fire.
